SOME OF THE UK WORK PERMITS AVAILABLE TO NON-EU/EEA PERSONS

 

SBS Permit - Sectors Based Scheme Permit

SBS work permit is available for 6 or 12 months within a number of employment sectors. All positions offered are within the food preparation and food manufacture throughout the UK. Positions offered will depend on the availability in relevant industries. Only now available for the Food Preparation in catering / food and fishery industries.

 

The SBS work permit is valid for the employer named on the work permit and is not transferable or renewable ˇ Cannot be applied for by applicant ˇ Cannot be applied for an applicant who is resident in the UK ˇ Available to all young people aged 18-30 years resident outside the UK ˇ Intermediate level of English required ˇ Applicants for this permit do not need to be students or graduates


TWES Permit - Training and Work Experience Permit (Hotel Only)

TWES work permit is available for 6 or 12 months. A work-training schedule is agreed with the employer to enable students to gain on-the-job experience. All positions offered at present are in hospitality and leisure industries. The work permit is valid for the employer named on the work permit and is not transferable or renewable.

 

TWES permit applications ˇ Available to students or young graduates aged 18-30 years  ˇ Students must be either: i) Studying for University/Higher Education degree in the hospitality industry/leisure & tourism or for a Professional qualification in Hotel-Catering/Tourism (at least 2 years into degree course) - or -  ii) Recent graduates of one of the above disciplines and taking 6 months/year out - or -  iii) Have worked in the field of hospitality or leisure for 3 years or more at supervisory level


Working Holiday Visa (WHM)

 

The working holidaymaker scheme is an arrangement where a Commonwealth citizen aged between 17 and 30 can come to the United Kingdom (UK) for an extended holiday for up to two years. You will be permitted to work, but will be expected to take a holiday during your stay.

 

Working Holiday application - general requirements ˇ You are a Commonwealth citizen ˇ You want to come to the UK to take employment as an integral part of a working holiday ˇ You are single or are married to a person who also qualifies as a working holidaymaker and you plan to take the working holiday together  ˇ You do not have any dependent children who are aged five years or over, or who will be five before you complete your holiday  ˇ You can support and accommodate yourself without help from public funds  ˇ You have the means to pay for your return, or onward journey  ˇ You plan to leave the UK at the end of your holiday
