Every organisation that is involved in providing a project, programme or service to young people who wish to expand their horizons through travel can buy our pixels. If you are not sure if your organisation is within that category, please look at the 'Who Can Buy?' section for examples.
OK - you are probably familiar with the concept. The webpage is composed of 1,000,000 (one million) pixels. Think of a pixel as about the size of a pin-head and you will realise why it is unrealistic to sell just one pixel. No-one would see it and clicking on it would be almost impossible. We sell the pixels in 'BLOCKS' which actually contain 100 pixels. Each BLOCK is 10x10 pixels in size and therefore there are 10,000 (ten thousand) BLOCKS available on the page. When you visit the 'GRID PAGE' you will see that we have already divided into the 10,000 BLOCKS.
You can buy as many BLOCKS as you like and you can check how many are actually available by looking at the live statistics in the top right corner of each page. You may decide to buy one BLOCK or you may decide that your organisation wants greater exposure. To do that, you can buy BLOCKS that are together.
HOW? First you select the BLOCK that you want. Then you will be presented with a page where you can enter your details and select the number of BLOCKS that you wish. If you only want 1 BLOCK, then you would enter 1 as the WIDTH and 1 as the HEIGHT. If you wanted to have a series of 3 BLOCKS in a horizontal line, you would enter 3 as the WIDTH and 1 as the HEIGHT. If you wanted a square, you might enter 2 as the WIDTH and 2 as the HEIGHT. As a guide, a popular website banner size is 120x60 pixels in size. If you wanted that in BLOCKS, you would enter 12 as the WIDTH and 6 as the HEIGHT.
WHAT CAN YOU DO WITH YOUR BLOCK(S)? When you buy some BLOCKS, you can then display an image/ad/logo of your choice (within reason) in the space you have purchased and when someone clicks on your image, your website will open for them to visit. We know that when young people search the web to find an opportunity, they rarely know the name of the organisation that will provide what they seek. They will usually put in search terms, such as, 'Volunteer work in Peru', or 'Internship in UK'. You may wish to upload a country flag or an image that is directly related to the programme or service. You may just wish to have an image that says, 'INTERN USA', or something similar. We will review all images and let you know if we feel it is not suitable. You are advised that we do accept animated (moving), obscene or offensive images and that if you submit such an image, it will be removed and we will replace it with a coloured block.
Remember, the people visiting the page will be doing so because they want to find a specific type of experience or service. If looking for an INTERNSHIP, they are most likely to click on an image that says, 'INTERNSHIP' than an image of a palm tree. Be creative, but if you want us to help, please contact us and we will see what we can create for you.
HOW LONG WILL MY IMAGE STAY ON THE PAGE? The BLOCKS you buy will be displayed on the 'SHOWCASE' for as long as the 'SHOWCASE' is active, unless you advise us that you want them removed. The homepage is not likely to change. The income generated from the sale of the BLOCKS will be used for a variety of purposes, one of which will be to ensure that the 'SHOWCASE' remains available until 31st December 2010, subject to any government or other legislation that would prevent this. We will review the current innovations in advertising and make decisions on the future of the 'SHOWCASE' after that date.
CONDITIONS OF PURCHASE
Minimum Purchase: 1 BLOCK (100 pixels) for US$45. There is no maximum - this will be determined by the amount an organisation wishes to spend in this form of advertising.
You are purchasing a PIXEL BLOCK, or multiple BLOCKS on the 'SHOWCASE' that will display your uploaded image until 31st December 2010.
You will be permitted to request changes to the image that you initially upload. Requests made within the first 5 days of your image being displayed, will be made without charge, but limited to a maximum of 5 changes.
You may request a further change to your image once every six months without further charge.
Additional requests for a change in your image will normally incur a change of US$25 per change.
Once your image is uploaded and can be viewed on the 'SHOWCASE' .
You agree that you will not upload and image or provide a link to any material that could be classed as obscene, offensive, racist, is of an adult nature or related to gambling. Our decision in these matters is final. Any organisation or individual that submits such material will have their image removed and will not be entitled to a refund.
If your image and link is accepted and displayed, but you later change the content of the image or the linked site to show material of an obscene, offensive, racist, adult or gambling nature, your image and link will be permanently removed and you will not be entitled to a refund.
At any time, you can request that your image removed. In this event, your BLOCKS may be made publicly available for purchase, but you will not be entitled to any refund.
Images must be the exact size you have paid for (eg. 100 pixels = 10x10 pixels). If you try to upload an image that is larger or smaller than the BLOCKS you have purchased, the image will be distorted and display incorrectly.
Images must be in gif, png, bmp, or jpeg format.
Animated images are permitted at the premium BLOCK RATE of US$75 per BLOCK. Advertisers will be invoiced for the additional cost.

You must have the right to use the image you provide.
You accept and agree that, apart from paying all relevant dues and costs, we have no control over the uptime of the server or servers on which we host the site and that there may be occasional downtimes for site maintenance and other reasons that are beyond our control. We will make every effort to ensure that downtime, for whatever reason, is kept to a minimum.
Payment is required at the time of purchase and can be made by PAYPAL. Alternative payment methods are available, but will result in a delay in displaying your image.
Your rate for a PIXEL BLOCK is that shown at the time of purchase and may be changed without notice.
All orders are final and payments non-refundable under any circumstances.
Your PIXEL BLOCK will normally be added within 24 hours from time of payment. If there is likely to be a greater delay, you will be advised as soon as possible together with the reason.
PAYMENT
Your PIXEL BLOCK will not be displayed until full payment has been received. We prefer payment by PAYPAL because it is immediate, secure and allows your image to be displayed in the shortest possible time. You do not need a PAYPAL account - but you might wish to open one. All major credit cards can be accepted for payment through PAYPAL.
We will also accept payment by UK cheque, UK Postal Order, Bank Transfer, Internet Banking, Wire Transfer, Western Union or exceptionally Banknotes, but only in British Pounds Sterling, United States Dollars or Euros. If you wish to pay by any of these methods, email usBEFORE you select your BLOCKS for details of how this can be achieved.
Buying your BLOCKS is automatically undertaken through the grid selection page. Visit the grid page and simply click on the cell that you would like to purchase. After your selection you will have the opportunity to expand your selection in height and width.
